07:14 pm: I wonder
Tonight I was listening to the news while doing a bunch of other things.  They had this special feature about how Canada, the US, Russia and another country were vying for land around the North Pole, for of all things oil.  People from these countries were doing anything to claim pices of land as their own...from hoisting flags to setting up military units.  The news was presented in a way that stated that Global Warming could cause people to have easier access to this oil.

It makes me wonder where our priorities are as a civilization.  Here we are still focusing on how we can make a buck at the planet's expense.  How much is too much?  Why do we have to hope that we destroy our own ecosystems just so we can rape our planet further?  I know that my thinking about it feeds that level of consciousness, but it saddens me.  I can see what level of consciousness they are coming from.  Those who seek to do this don't feel that we are connected to Earth.  They do not see that Earth itself is a living organism.  I wish I could shake those people awake, but I can honestly only be concerned about my own awakening.  Maybe when I stir from my own slumber, others will as well.  Obviously, since I see this as an "us and them" issue, I am still too asleep to matter.

Current Mood: pensivepensive
12:52 pm: Starting Over

Here I am again, under a new name starting a new journal.  I have not been here much, and my old account lapsed.  So, here I am.  I don't have much to write but am keeping it short.  I'm here now, so I guess that's what matters.  I'm here sick today, but will feel better soon.  I'm listening to Neale Donald Walsch's presentation from the Atlanta presentation wondering if HT in the US has died, if it will reincarnate and realizing how I was one of the contributors to its death, or at least the dath of the forum.  I am offering to help there, but is it too little too late?  I don't know, but I'm here now.
